If you have a recreational property but plan to keep it heated all year, You do not need a drainback valve assembly.  We do recommend that you shut off the breaker when you leave for any extended period of time.  That way, if the power supply is interrupted and your heat shuts off  long enough for damage to occur, when the power is restored, the pump will not kick on as the pipes thaw and flood your home!
